Join us for this workshop on how to reach net zero in South West England and South Wales
Reaching Scope 3 net zero in the South West and South Wales through living labs
As a society, we urgently need to decarbonise to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. At the local and regional levels, our greatest opportunity to cut emissions lies in our supply chains and travel – ‘Scope 3’ emissions. Reducing these quickly and fairly will have huge health, economic and environmental benefits.
This must be done together. Local authorities, companies, community organisations, and universities each hold a piece of the puzzle. The living lab model allows us to co-create sustainability solutions that meet our shared priorities.
At the workshop we will explore practical steps for tackling Scope 3 in our region:
- Priorities for reducing complex emissions
- Living labs to co-design, test and implement solutions
- Funding proposals* for net zero/living labs projects
*The GW4 Alliance is supporting a number of large-scale UKRI proposals in this area. The Alliance also supports smaller-scale community building projects through its Generator Fund.
