The Green Futures Network’s Climate Adaptation Community of Practice is open to all organisations across the UK that are working to develop their understanding of and engagement with adaptation.
May’s meeting focus is on the co-production of climate adaptation plans in Louisiana, led by Rami Diaz.
Rami is the Urban Design Director at Waggonner & Ball, A Moffatt & Nichol Studio, with over 20 years’ experience in addressing the challenges of sea level rise, translating complex environmental data into actionable plans that help communities adapt to the realities of a changing climate. They’ll be sharing their experience working with communities, government agencies and non-profit organisations in the south eastern United States where they led the development of adaptation schemes that are not only technically sound but also culturally and socially appropriate.
Rami will be speaking about a range of climate adaptation projects, from large-scale post-Katrina plans for New Orleans, to work in vulnerable communities in Louisiana, Virginia, and California, developed with an emphasis on Living with Water®”
