Scope 3 Community of Practice – March meeting

Scope 3 Community of Practice – March meeting

To achieve Net Zero emissions, all organisations must not only measure and reduce the carbon associated with their direct activities and energy use, but also those emissions from indirect activity. These Scope 3 emissions, including what we buy, are extremely difficult to accurately understand, and therefore manage.

The Scope 3 Community of Practice is a learning network of organisations, including councils, businesses and public sector organisations, who are committed to reducing their indirect emissions. The group is aiming to find consistency in its approach to carbon accounting, and creating outputs that can be shared by all.

Our next session will be on the topic of sharing data. We’ll be joined by Tom Carpenter, Founder of Mycelium, the open access database for company carbon emissions: https://mycelium.global/.

Tom will share Mycelium’s approach to increasing data access, and we’ll have the chance to discuss and ask questions, reflecting on how it could inform our own work in this space.

If you would like to join this event or future Scope 3 CoP events, contact Peter at gfn@exeter.ac.uk.
