Adaptation Community of Practice

23 June @ 10:00 AM11:30 AM

The Adaptation Community of Practice is open to all organisations across the UK that are working to develop their understanding of and engagement with adaptation. We hear from expert speakers, test and feedback on new ideas and resources, and collectively discuss how to implement the latest information into how we work individually and together.

The CoP acts a learning network and an action network, providing a space for peer-support, the exchange of information, and increased co-ordination around a consistent approach to understanding, communicating and implementing climate adaptation measures.

June’s opt-in session for the Adaptation Community of Practice will be focused on the MACC Hub (Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change), a UKRI and Defra funded project which aims to address climate risks by examining the levers of change for adaptation in the UK and advancing transformative climate adaptation strategies.

We had a session on the MACC Hub almost two years ago when it was just starting, and now CoP member Morgan Roberts and Alan Carr from Sustainability West Midlands will give us an overview of what has happened since then, including:

  • Different projects and opportunities, and how it can support your work
  • Lessons learned around engagement on adaptation
  • How the MACC Hub is working towards a systemic approach to adaptation

Find out more about the MACC Hub here: https://macchub.co.uk/

Sessions last for 90 minutes, with an extra 30 minutes held for open discussion for anyone who wants to stay.

To join please email Peter at gfn@exeter.ac.uk.
