Scope 3 Community of Practice

Many organisations have developed methods to measure their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, but Scope 3 (emissions from things we do not own, or those in our value chain) is much harder. This Community of Practice is for organisations across the UK, as we work to find opportunities for consistency in how we understand and measure our Scope 3 carbon emissions.
The CoP is both a learning network and an action network. As a learning network, it provides a space for peer-support, the exchange of information, and increased co-ordination around a consistent approach to understanding, communicating and measuring Scope 3 emissions. As an action network, it identifies key actions to take and creates processes for these to be undertaken collaboratively. September’s session will focus onĀ using data as an enabler for change. CoP member Fraser Browning (formerly of the University of Exeter’s Sustainability Team, now of Kerb Carbon) will share his work on moving from measurement to action on Scope 3, including how we can combine data principles with a framework for behavioural change. The session is planned to last one hour, but I am about to send a calendar invitation for 90 minutes to give us some space for further discussion.
