Lagas – Natural environment mapping tool
Lagas shares information about Cornwall’s unique landscape and environment, to help the public and businesses in the region to engage with nature.
Lagas is a Natural Capital Information and Management Hub which supports the environmental growth strategy publish by Cornwall Council for a healthy growing natural environment alongside a vibrant economy.
It features maps on areas as diverse as future farming crops grown; which areas are the most popular; areas of opportunity for natural capital and environmental growth such as woodland management and heathland development; and the concentration of small businesses throughout Cornwall.
The hub offers:
- Mapping tools – helping you understand the landscape and environment. Showing Nature Recovery Networks, Net-gain Zones, Existing Nature Network, habitat opportunities, ecosystem services, landcover and change, microclimate, future farming, business activity, renewable energy, green futures and local nature recovery strategies.
- Resources and links – toolkits, guidance and links to help engage with Cornwall’s environmental and economic development.
